Deportation Cross

In 1924, the Deportation Cross was erected near the railway about one mile from the memorial church at the national historic site of Grand-Pre. In 2005, the cross was moved to land belonging to the Grand Pré Historic Site. This spot on Horton Landing is believed to be the exact location where the Acadians waited for the ships to deport them in 1755.
